Bluebonnet CASA's Mission Statement

Bluebonnet CASA provides and supports trained community Guardian Ad Litem Volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children involved in the court system, and to facilitate placement of these children in safe, loving, permanent homes as quickly as possible.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates - trained volunteers from the community who are appointed Guardian ad Litem by a judge to advocate on a one-to-one basis for a child who has been a victim of abuse or neglect.

CASA Volunteers are ordinary people who are committed to the
concept that every child has a right to grow up in a safe and permanent home.
After undergoing 30 hours of certified pre-volunteer training,
criminal and Children's Protective  Services background checks and an in depth personal interview, volunteers:

• Get to know a individual child

• Talk to parents and family

• Attend court hearings

• Interact with attorneys

• Meet with case managers and therapists

• Review records

• Visit schools and talk to teachers.

After exploring the history of the child, a CASA Guardian ad Litem volunteer makes recommendations to the Judge regarding the child's best interests.  The CASA volunteer remains involved with the child for the life of the case, until the child is placed in a safe and permanent home.

Tax deductible donations can be made to:
Bluebonnet CASA
P.O. Box 130
Mason, Texas 76856

These donations are used to cover the costs of training and supervising CASA Guardian ad Litem volunteers. When possible, Bluebonnet CASA also uses these funds to buy items that the children may need at home or at school.  Can we count on you to become one of our friends by making a tax deductible gift to Bluebonnet CASA?
